The Nigerian Air Force has carried out a precision air operation that crippled a key terrorist supply base in the Southern Tumbuns axis of Nigeria’s North-East.

The strike, conducted on December 14 at Dabar Masara, targeted a location identified as a major support hub for terrorist activities in the region. The operation forms part of sustained efforts to disrupt insurgent logistics and weaken their operational capabilities.

In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the action followed actionable intelligence pointing to the existence of a terrorist workshop and continuous movement of armed fighters within the area.

He explained that the Air Component of Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai deployed a coordinated force package, combining Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions with precision strike operations.

According to Ejodame, surveillance conducted prior to the strike revealed frequent terrorist movements and a large number of vehicles hidden under thick vegetation, confirming the site as an active logistics and coordination point.

Further monitoring on the day of the operation reportedly confirmed the intelligence, with terrorists seen moving around the concealed vehicles, prompting immediate engagement in line with established Rules of Engagement.

Post-strike assessments showed that the targeted vehicles were destroyed and several terrorist elements were eliminated during the operation.

Ejodame noted that the success of the mission highlights the Nigerian Air Force’s continued reliance on intelligence-led and accurate air operations to support national counterterrorism efforts.

He reiterated the Air Force’s commitment to working closely with other arms of the Armed Forces to dismantle terrorist networks and improve security across affected areas.
