SIX RESCUED, OTHERS TRAPPED AS THREE-STOREY BUILDING COLLAPSE IN LAGOS

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has rescued six persons alive as a three-storey building collapsed at 20, Freeman Street, Lagos Island.

This comes barely two weeks after the Lagos State Government locked up 14 buildings in Lekki to reduce the incidence of collapse in the State.

The collapse was said to have happened at about 3am midnight with others still trapped in it.

The Southwest Coordinator of NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye, said about ten people are suggested to be living in the building.

Farinloye said efforts are on to rescue the remaining victims.
