Kano man arraigned over alleged plot to kill father
A Kano Magistrate’s Court has arraigned a man, Nura Usman, alongside his father’s former wife, Izzatu Aliyu, over an alleged plot to kill his father.
The defendants appeared before Magistrate’s Court No. 26 in Nomansland, Kano, where they were charged with conspiracy to commit an offence and attempted murder.
Prosecuting counsel, Barrister A.I. Buhari, informed the court that the charges were newly filed and requested permission for them to be read to the defendants.
The court granted the request, after which the court clerk, Awaisu Jajira, read the charges to the accused persons.
Following the proceedings, the prosecution requested an adjournment to allow it obtain further directives from the government.
The court granted the application and adjourned the matter until September 7, 2026, for the re-arraignment of the defendants.
