KADUNA STATE GOVERNMENT BUILT CONCRETE BARRICADES ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS TO ENFORCE LOCKDOWN COMPLIANCE

Kaduna State government has Built Concrete Barricades on Interstate Highways to ensure its residents comply with lockdown order.

 

Earlier, the Kaduna State Government announced the extension of COVID-19 lockdown in the state by another 30 days, which took effect from April 26,2020.

 


The governor of the state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’s decision followed a recommendation to that effect by the State Standing Committee on COVID-19, chaired by the deputy governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe.

 

The barricades seem necessary, to avoid human and vehicular movements within the state since some residents were defying the order, the state has intensified efforts to flatten the curve of coronavirus and avoid a resurgence.

 


According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NDCD), on Saturday, May 2, Kaduna has recorded 66 cases of coronavirus.
