ONE KILLED AS POLICE ARREST NOTORIOUS PIRATE IN RIVERS
The Police in Rivers State has arrested Dan Eze George, a notorious pirate who has been terrorizing passengers along the Port Harcourt/Bonny waterways in the State.
George was arrested after his gang attacked a passenger boat trying to cart away some items which claimed one life along the waterways.
The suspect, 28, and a boat driver were nabbed on Thursday, during an attack on Port Harcourt-bound travelers around Asarama area of Andoni Local Government Area of the State.

The Police Spokesperson in Rivers State, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident, saying a manhunt has been launched to apprehend fleeing members of the gang.
Omoni said, “I can confirm the incident that happened on Bonny River. Daniel Clifford George from Asarama in Andoni Local Government Area. He is on the police wanted list. He was arrested alongside others.
“Yes, it is confirmed. He is with us. It was in a joint operation by security operatives in the State. Daniel George was arrested. He is about 28-years old from Andoni.

“He was arrested among others but he is the key person and he has been on the police watch list. He was arrested along the Bonny River. We are interrogating him and he is helping the police in our investigation,” Omoni added.
The PPRO explained that many suspects were arrested alongside the wanted criminal, adding that “they were many but while profiling them they (operatives) discovered that some others were not part of the operation. But this particular Dan Ezekiel George is on the police watch list.”
