BANDITS AMBUSH ANOTHER CONVOY ON KADUNA-BIRNIN GWARI EXPRESSWAY, KILL SIX COMMUTERS

Bandits have attacked a convoy conveying commuters along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway in Kaduna State, killing about six commuters.


The incident happened around 3pm on Thursday after the assailants ambushed the commuters at Unguwar Geda, few metres from Zankoro on the expressway.


Sources say six persons were gunned down while many were whisked away into the bush.


Reports indicate that the assailants broke the chain of vehicles escorted by security and vigilante during the operation.


This is exactly 24 hours after bandits attacked a convoy conveying traders to Kano on the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway, kidnapping several of them.


Security operatives has however rescued all kidnapped 48 persons and they have since been reunited with their families.
