Troops Repel Terrorist Attacks at Azir Bridge and Banki
Troops of the Operation HADIN KAI under the Joint Task Force (North East) have successfully repelled coordinated terrorist attacks on their positions at Azir Bridge and Banki in the early hours of 13 March 2026.
According to military sources, the terrorists advanced in large numbers in an attempt to overrun troops stationed at the locations in Sector 2 (Azir Bridge) and Sector 1 (Banki). However, vigilant troops swiftly responded with coordinated spoiling attacks that disrupted the insurgents’ assault and forced them into disarray.
The military operation was further reinforced by close air support from the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, which played a crucial role in repelling the attackers.
Authorities stated that the failed assaults contradict claims circulating on some online platforms suggesting that the terrorists had gained ground. Military officials maintained that troops remain firmly in control of the affected areas and continue to dominate the operational environment.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations against terrorist groups and restoring lasting peace across Nigeria’s North-East region.
