Troops Destroy Terrorist Hideouts, Recover Weapons in Bauchi Forest Operation

Troops of Operation Safe Haven have dismantled suspected terrorist hideouts and recovered weapons during a clearance operation in Yankari Forest and surrounding areas of Alkaleri Local Government Area in Bauchi State.

According to a report by Zagazola Makama, the operation was conducted around 5:30 p.m. on March 20 by troops of the 33 Artillery Brigade as part of ongoing efforts to flush out criminal elements from the area.

Report revealed that the troops carried out a thorough sweep of the forest, during which several hideouts and staging points used by suspected terrorists were identified and destroyed.

The operation also led to the recovery of two Dane guns, while the identified threats within the area were neutralised.

The exercise is part of a broader strategy to deny criminal groups freedom of movement and restore security within the forest and adjoining communities.
