Troops Arrest Suspected Militia Linked to Targeted Killings in Plateau, Recover Arms

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have arrested nine suspected Berom militia members allegedly involved in targeted killings during an operation in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, amid ongoing security concerns over recurring violence in the area.

The operation led to the recovery of arms and ammunition, as security forces intensify efforts to curb cycles of attacks and reprisals across affected communities.

Those arrested have been identified as: Gyang Dantoro, Samson Davou, Choji Yakubu, Vincent Adamu, Pam Dalyop, Femi Badung, Jacob Musa, and Choji Chaga, all reportedly of Berom origin and residents of Danwal.

Security authorities say the arrests form part of ongoing operations aimed at dismantling armed groups and restoring stability in Plateau communities affected by persistent clashes.

Investigations are ongoing, while troops continue to maintain a strong operational presence in the area to prevent further violence.
