President Tinubu welcomes rescue of 21 abducted persons in Kogi, vows pursuit of kidnappers

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the rescue of 21 abducted persons, including 15 NYSC corps members, in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.


The victims were rescued on Monday following a coordinated search-and-rescue operation involving the military, police, Department of State Services and local vigilantes.


The rescued group comprised eight males and 13 females. They are currently receiving medical attention before arrangements are made for their reunification with their families.


Tinubu said security forces had continued the pursuit of the fleeing kidnappers and vowed that those responsible for the abduction, as well as anyone who assisted the operation, would be brought to justice.


The President also commended the security personnel involved in the rescue and assured Nigerians that his administration would continue working to make road travel safer across the country.
