POLICE ARRAIGNS THREE PERSONS FOR ALLEGEDLY FORGING COVID-19 TEST CERTIFICATE IN LAGOS

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned three persons for allegedly forging a COVID-19 test certificate before an Ikeja Magistrate Court.


The suspects are identified as; Emmanuel Adelegan, Ibrahim Abubakar, and Tope Shoaga.


The trio were charged with conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretence, and forgery. They allegedly committed the offences on February 8 at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos State.


The suspects collected N33,000 from a certain Chisom Emmanalon with a promise to get her a COVID-19 test certificate. When the lady presented the certificate at the airport, authorities discovered that it was fake.


The defendants pleaded Not Guilty and the Court's Magistrate, O.A Layinka, ordered that they be released on bail in the sum of N100,000.


The hearing has been adjourned till May 19.
