NAF Partners Nigerian Army to Boost Aviation Fuel Handling Capabilities

In a major step toward strengthening inter-service collaboration and enhancing operational synergy, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), has launched the first-ever Aviation Fuel Handling and Administration Course for personnel of the Nigerian Army Aviation.

The newly introduced technical training is aimed at building capacity among participants, equipping them with critical knowledge and practical skills in managing aviation bulk fuel installations, conducting aircraft fuelling operations, maintaining fuel quality control, and operating fuel bowsers. The course also covers other essential tasks necessary to support the operational readiness of the Nigerian Army’s aviation wing.

The initiative is in line with the strategic vision of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, whose emphasis on purposeful and mission-driven training continues to reinforce the pivotal role of logistics in successful military operations. He expressed confidence that such collaborative efforts will not only bolster joint operational effectiveness but also contribute significantly to national defence capabilities.

The programme further underscores AFIT’s central role in advancing technical proficiency across Nigeria’s aviation sector, while setting a precedent for integrated training efforts between military branches.
