FORMER MILITARY ADMINISTRATOR OF LAGOS AND IMO STATE, NDUBISI KANU IS DEAD

A former Military Administrator of Lagos and Imo State, Rear Admiral Ndubisi Kanu Rtd, is dead.


Kanu, 77, died this morning in a hospital in Lagos.


The cause of his death cannot be ascertained as at the time of filing this report but sources say he has been ill for a long time.


In his military service, Kanu was a first-class graduate of Sandhurst Military Institute in the UK.


In 1975, he was the only Igbo that was part of the Supreme Military Council before it was dissolved by General Olusegun Obasanjo when he assumed office in 1976 as Head of State.


The former Military Administrator was also a director in Fidelity Bank Plc. He  is the founder of a shipping and maritime company called RAGNK Ltd, headquartered in Victoria Island, Lagos.


His demise comes two days after the former Military Administrator of Kano and Benue State, Aminu Isa Kontagora, died from COVID-19 complications.
