COVID-19 LOCKDOWN: FG POSTPONES CLOSURE OF AIRPORT

Following the spread of Coronavirus in Nigeria. The Federal Government has extended the closure of airspace and airports in the country by 14 days. 


This was disclosed by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, on Monday, 20th April, via a tweet on his Twitter handle. 


He said airports would not be open for commercial operations on April 23 due to the extension in lockdown order in the three major cities; FCT, Lagos and Ogun State. 


He said, “As a result of the extension on lockdown by Mr President, it is no longer possible for us to open our airspace and airports for normal operations by the 23rd April 2020.


“They will remain closed for a further two weeks. This subject to review as appropriate."
