POLICE ARREST FIVE SUSPECTED CATTLE RUSTLERS IN KADUNA, RECOVER STOLEN COWS

In a recent operation, Operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command successfully apprehended five individuals believed to be involved in cattle rustling. The suspects were taken into custody in Tafa town, located within Kagarko Local Government Area of the state.


According to the Police Command, the arrests were made on December 30, 2023, at about 1830hrs. Acting on credible information, operatives collaborated with the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) to detain a 20-year-old suspect. The individual was found in possession of four cows, suspected to have been stolen, loaded in a vehicle.


Following thorough investigation, the principal suspect confessed that the cows were entrusted to him by the manager of a farm in Sabon Wuse town. The principal suspect further revealed that he conspired with the other four individuals to sell the stolen cows.


All suspects are currently held in police custody as the authorities conduct further investigations. The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, stated that upon completion of the investigation, the suspects will be charged to court. The recovery of the stolen cows marks a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to combat cattle rustling in Kaduna State.
