Gunmen launch deadly raids in Plateau, ten residents lose lives

At least ten people have been confirmed dead following separate attacks on communities in Plateau State between Friday and Saturday, November 1, 2025.


Reports indicate that seven individuals were killed in Kwi community of Riyom Local Government Area, while three others lost their lives in Pushit community, Mangu Local Government Area.


A community leader, Rwang Tengwon, who confirmed the incident, said suspected armed men invaded Kwi community on Friday night, killing seven residents. He added that one person was later attacked and killed on his farm on Saturday afternoon, followed by another assault later that night.


In a separate incident, the Mwaghavul Development Association confirmed the Pushit attack in a statement issued by its Director of Public Affairs, Friday Derwan.


“We call on security agencies in Mangu Local Government and across Plateau State to act swiftly to stop these senseless killings and protect innocent lives,” the statement read.
