NAF Airstrike Destroys Terrorist Hideouts in Southern Tumbuns, Sustains Pressure on Insurgents

The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has intensified its aerial campaign against insurgents in the North-East, successfully destroying terrorist hideouts during a precision airstrike in the Southern Tumbuns area of Borno State.

The operation, carried out at about 7:00 p.m. on April 24, 2026, targeted Ali Sheriffti, a location identified as a key enclave for terrorist activity.

According to operational details, the mission was launched based on credible intelligence indicating the presence of insurgents in the area. Surveillance aircraft conducted a detailed sweep, during which multiple fighters were observed moving along concealed routes.

The suspected insurgents were trailed to structures hidden beneath dense vegetation, suggesting deliberate efforts to evade detection. Following confirmation of the targets, air assets engaged the location with precision-guided munitions.

The strike resulted in the destruction of the identified structures, significantly disrupting terrorist operations and limiting their movement within the area.

Military sources noted that the continued high-tempo air operations are aimed at degrading insurgent capabilities and sustaining pressure on their networks across the theatre.
