Police Raid Uncompleted Building in Awka, Arrest Three, Recover Firearm and Hard Drugs

In a continued effort to enhance public safety and security in the Anambra State capital, police operatives from the B Division of the State Police Command raided an uncompleted building at Iyiagu Estate, Awka, in the early hours of April 29, 2025.

Acting on credible intelligence, officers stormed the location and arrested three male suspects: Paulinus Nkuda, Nwankwo Emmanuel, and Nwadede Godspower. A locally made revolver pistol and substances suspected to be hard drugs were recovered during the operation.

According to preliminary investigations, the arrested individuals claimed the firearm belongs to a suspect known only as Chukwuebuka, popularly referred to as "Nwa Onitsha," who remains at large.

The suspects and case file have been transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping/Rapid Response Unit of the Command for further investigation. Meanwhile, efforts have been intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspect.

The operation underscores the police's proactive approach in identifying criminal hideouts and tackling threats within Awka and its environs, while also reassuring residents of the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order.
