PIRATES ROB SHIP AT POINTE NOIRE ANCHORAGE IN CONGO

Pirates on Monday robbed a vessel at the Pointe Noire Anchorage in the Republic of Congo. 


The ship was robbed at 23:50 UTC while in position 04 43 00 S, 011 45 00 E, Pointe Noire Anchorage. 


Eons Intelligence gathered that crew members mustered on the bridged and raised an alarm when they spotted three pirates with at least one armed with a knife. 


Assistance was promptly deployed and when port control was contacted.

It was later discovered that a mooring rope had gone missing.  


A similar incident was reported at the Pointe Noire anchorage area on January 4. A Cyprus-flagged container ship named NILEDUTCH BREDA was boarded by three intruders.

An alarm was raised and the members of crew retreat into the citadel. It was later discovered that two mooring ropes had disappeared.
