Operation FANSAN YAMMA Donates Fertilizer to Zamfara Farmers, Reaffirms Food Security Commitment
Indigenes of Tsafe Local Government Area (LGA), Zamfara State, on 2 September 2025, trooped out in jubilation as Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) donated 200 bags of fertilizer to farmers in the area. The initiative is part of ongoing civil–military cooperation efforts aimed at boosting food production, improving livelihoods, and fostering lasting peace across the North West and parts of North Central.
The fertilizer was formally handed over to the Emir of Tsafe, HRH Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Bawa, by the Theatre Logistics Component Commander, Brigadier General Nkemakolam Mbaka, who represented the Theatre Commander OPFY, Major General OO Soyele.
Speaking at the event, Major General Soyele emphasized that the non-kinetic intervention would enhance agricultural productivity, strengthen community resilience, and encourage farmers to return to their farmlands amid ongoing military operations designed to secure rural communities. He expressed appreciation to the Emir, the Zamfara State Government, and residents for their continued support in the fight against terrorism and banditry.
In his remarks, the Emir of Tsafe described the gesture as timely, noting that the fertilizer distribution would significantly improve food production and the livelihoods of his people. He urged farmers to put the inputs to good use and pledged continued support for security operations in the state.
The event was attended by community leaders, local government representatives, and members of the host community, who commended the Army’s proactive approach to both security and community development.
