Nigerian Army Bans CJTF, Local Hunters From Wearing Military Uniforms Across Operation HADIN KAI Theatre
The Nigerian Army has ordered an immediate ban on the use of military uniforms and kits by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters operating across the Operation HADIN KAI theatre in the North-East.
The directive mandates commanders at all levels to strictly enforce the prohibition as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen operational discipline, prevent impersonation, and maintain clear identification of military personnel during operations.
Field commanders have also been instructed to ensure that any CJTF member or local hunter found wearing military uniforms or military-issued kits is professionally de-kitted in a non-confrontational manner. Such incidents are to be promptly reported to the appropriate formation commander for necessary administrative action.
The order is expected to take immediate effect across all sectors of the theatre, with unit commanders directed to sensitise personnel and affiliated local security groups on the new enforcement measures.
The Nigerian Army continues to work closely with the CJTF and local hunters in counter-insurgency operations but maintains that the use of military uniforms and equipment remains strictly reserved for authorised members of the Armed Forces.
