Major Terrorist Camp Overrun in Kogi as Nigerian Army Strikes Blow to Criminal Network
The Nigerian Army, under Operation IGBO IDANU I, has delivered a significant blow to a notorious terrorist network in Kogi State, effectively neutralizing a key stronghold linked to Kachalla Ibrahim and Shu’aibu.
The operation, led by Brigadier General Kasim Umar Sidi, saw forces overcoming challenging terrain, dense forests, and riverine obstacles to execute a strategic attack. Despite difficult conditions, the troops advanced on foot, ensuring tactical surprise and operational control, ultimately overrunning the terrorists’ camp.
Although the terrorists fled upon seeing the advancing forces, the operation led to the recovery of vital arms and ammunition, including eight boxes of 7.62 x 54 link ammunition and high-velocity grenades. These successful seizures have dealt a major blow to the terrorists' ability to operate.
Following the camp's clearance, it was destroyed and set ablaze to prevent any future occupation by the criminals. The Nigerian Army continues aggressive patrols in the area to disrupt any remaining terrorist elements, sending a strong message that these hideouts will not go unchallenged.
The operation underscores the Army’s ongoing commitment to securing the region, protecting communities, and ensuring long-term peace.
