INEC CHAIRMAN PREPARES CERTIFICATE OF RETURN TO PRESIDENT-ELECT
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has disclosed that he will issue the Certificates of Return by 1500hrs to the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the vice president-elect today, 1st March 2023.
He said in his statement, “I Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, hereby certifies that I am the Returning Officer for the 2023 Presidential Election held on 25th February 2023.
“That Tinubu, Bola Ahmed of the APC having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.
We have decided to present the certificate of return to him and the vice president–elect by 1500hrs today”.
Meanwhile, the commission would on Thursday 2nd March 2023 announce when the National Assembly members-elect would receive their Certificates of Return.
