GOVERNOR ZULUM APPOINTS NEW SHEHU OF DIKWA

Babagana Umara Zulum, Governor of Borno State has appointed Alhaji Abba Jato Shehu Umar as the new first class Shehu of Dikwa.


The appointment of Umar follows the demise of Alhaji Muhammad Ibn-Masta El-Kanemi, former first class traditional ruler of the Emirate.


Alhaji El-Kanemi, who was in his mid-70s, passed away on Saturday 23rd January 2021 in Abuja after a protracted illness, Eons Intelligence reported.

In a statement personally signed by Governor Zulum on 30th January 2021, titled "THE CHIEFS (APPOINTMENT AND DEPOSITION LAW, CAP. 25 FIRST CLASS SHEHU OF DIKWA EMIRATE APPOINTMENT ORDER, 2021" he stated that order was in line with Section 68 of the Borno State Local Government Law, 2000 and Section 5 of Chiefts (Appointment and Deposition) Law. Cap. 25 Law of Borno State, 1994.


He said: "The order may be cited as the First Class Shehu of Dikwa Appointment Order 2021.


"His Royal Highness, ABBBA JATO UMAR is hereby appointed as First Class Shehu of Dikwa to be known and recognized as "Shehu of Dikwa" Eminrate Council.""
