COVID-19: PDP IS AN ASSEMBLY OF JOBLESS, PEDESTRIAN AND IRRESPONSIBLE PEOPLE- YAHAYA BELLO

Barely 24 hours after the People's Democratic Party (PDP) accused Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello over his 'manifest laidback attitude' towards COVID-19 prevention and management protocols, Yahaya Bello has described the PDP as an assembly of jobless, pedestrian and irresponsible people, Legit Reports.

The opposition party, in a statement, said it is worried over alleged unreported cases of COVID-19 as well as issues of 'silent deaths' in the State, which have become scary, Eons Intelligence reports.

In response, Kogi State Commissioner for information, Kingsley Fanwo,  described the party's accusation as a baseless one.

Fanwo named the PDP as an assembly of "jobless, pedestrian and irresponsible" people, adding that the party is "yet to declare itself as a COVID-19 marketing agent."

Meanwhile, Eons Intelligence, on Monday, June 29, reported that the PDP's reaction was in response to the death of the Chief Judge of Kogi State, Nasir Ajanah, who reportedly died on June 28 from complications related to COVID-19 at the isolation centre in Gwagwalada, Abuja,

Kogi State Government has been in a word battle with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, over claims by the health agency that the State is not free from COVId-19

The NCDC reported that two COVID-19 cases were discovered in the State on May 29, but the State Government said the claims were fictitious.

"Nigerians need to start asking NCDC what they stand to gain by manufacturing fictitious claims and attaching them to States and how eager they are to announce confirmed cases, a situation that has had them coming out to apologize publicly," the Kogi State Government said.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Kogi State now has four confirmed cases of COVID-19 within its territory- a claim the government vehemently denies.
