BREAKING: RIVERS RECORDS TWO MORE COVID-19 CASES

Rivers State has recorded two new COVID-19 cases. 


This was disclosed by the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), Dr Nsirim Larry, on Saturday, May 23 in a statement in Port Harcourt, the State Capital. 


Larry said the two new COVID-19 patients include a female security personnel working in the hospital and a female patient that had earlier been admitted into the labour ward in the Hospital. 


He urged doctors and nurses who had direct contact with the patients to self isolate, adding that the management of the Hospital will decontaminate the labour ward and radiology units with quick effect. 


According to Larry, sample collection of those who have had contact with the patients will commence tomorrow, May 24.


He urged residents of the State not to panic as the State Government and Health workers are working to curb the spread of Coronavirus. 


According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Friday, May 22, Rivers has recorded 89 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 23 recoveries and 7 deaths.
