ASUU TASKS IGP, OYO CP TO ARREST KILLERS OF PROFESSOR OPEYEMI
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, University of Ibadan Chapter, on 3rd July, 2023 tasked the Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP, Olukayode Egbetokun, to assist in unmasking the killer of Professor Opeyemi Ajewole by deploying his tactical team to Oyo State Police Command.
Professor Opeyemi Ajewole of the Department Social and Environmental Forestry Development of the University of Ibadan was gruesomely killed on 5th June, 2023 by yet-to-be-identified assailants on his way back home around Moniya, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Meanwhile, the ASUU Chairman of the UI chapter, Professor Ayo Akinwole, has released a statement urging the Ag.IGP to use his tactical team at unravelling the mystery surrounding the killing of the academic staff.
