82 BOKO HARAM FIGHTERS DEAD IN INTER-ETHNIC SHOOTING

No fewer than 82 Boko Haram fighters laid down their lives during the inter-ethnic clash among the insurgents on 16th August 2023 in Kukawa LGA, Borno State.


The information available indicates that a fight broke out between four tribes of the insurgents—Hausa, Fulani, Kanuri and Buduma, following the killing of seven members of Buduma fighters by their commander, Baduma Bakura over their attempt to surrender to the Nigerian military.


Consequently, the commanders of the four tribes of the fighter had a meeting which cause one Ali Mandula, a Niger Republic base fighter threatened to kill whoever among the other fighter responsible for killing his followers. The threats resulted in arguments that ended up with a Fulani insurgent shooting Buduma dead.


The fight graduated to a gun duel among the ethnic fighters and killed about 82 among themselves including their commanders.
