Troops Recover Seven Rifles, Motorcycles During Raid on Abandoned Facility in Delta
Troops of Headquarters 63 Brigade/Sector 1, Joint Task Force South South Operation DELTA SAFE, have recovered seven rifles and two motorcycles during a targeted raid operation in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The operation was carried out on June 4, 2026, following credible intelligence on the presence of suspected criminal assets within the community. During the raid, troops discovered the weapons and motorcycles concealed inside an abandoned police station in Ibusa.
Military authorities said the recovery forms part of ongoing efforts to deny criminal elements operational freedom and enhance security across the state.
Commander of 63 Brigade, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, commended the troops for their professionalism, vigilance and commitment during the operation. He urged personnel to sustain the current momentum and intensify efforts against criminal networks operating within the area.
The Brigade Commander also reaffirmed the military's resolve to maintain pressure on criminal elements, warning that individuals or groups involved in illegal possession of arms or other criminal activities would face decisive legal action.
Security operations remain ongoing as authorities continue efforts to identify those linked to the recovered weapons and motorcycles.
