Gunmen Raid Kogi Community, Abduct Two Residents in Night Attack
Suspected armed bandits have reportedly abducted two residents during an attack on Odo-Eri community in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The incident occurred on the night of May 20, 2026, when the attackers allegedly stormed the community, causing panic as residents fled for safety.
According to local sources, the gunmen abducted a Fulani resident identified as Bube alongside one of his herders before escaping from the area.
The latest attack has heightened security concerns across Yagba West, following recent warnings about suspicious movements of armed groups within surrounding communities.
Reports indicated that suspected bandits had earlier been sighted moving from the Babanla Forest area in neighbouring Kwara State through bush paths leading into parts of Yagba West, raising fears of possible attacks.
Residents of Ejiba, Odo-Eri, Egbe, and nearby communities have been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
As of the time of filing this report, security authorities had yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, while efforts to rescue the abducted victims were still unclear.
