The Delta State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on illicit drug activities and cultism, leading to the arrest of suspected offenders and recovery of illegal substances and weapons.

In a statement, the Command said operatives of the DOPS Buffalo Patrol Team, in collaboration with members of the Achalla Ibusa Vigilante, carried out a sting operation on 17 March 2026 at a residence along the Power Line axis in Asaba. The property is believed to belong to a suspected drug baron popularly known as “Madam Do Good.”

During the raid, officers recovered various illicit substances, including ice, Colorado, Canadian loud, suspected Indian hemp, and tramadol. Several suspects were arrested at the scene, including Faith Uyaterimo, Peter Nnamani, Paul Nnamani, and Abuchi Miracle, alongside three others. The suspects and exhibits are currently in police custody, while investigations are ongoing.

In a separate operation on 19 March 2026 at about 1200hrs, operatives of the Ekpan Police Station, acting on credible intelligence, arrested an 18-year-old suspect, Ovie Ejeh, along Wangwe College in Warri over alleged cult-related activities.

A search conducted on the suspect led to the recovery of a locally fabricated cut-to-size single-barrel gun loaded with two live cartridges. The suspect reportedly confessed to being a member of a cult group and remains in custody.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, reiterated the Command’s commitment to proactive policing, directing Divisional Police Officers and tactical teams to intensify efforts in combating crime. He warned that individuals involved in drug trafficking and other criminal activities would be identified, arrested, and prosecuted accordingly.
