Troops Eliminate 10 Terrorists, Recover Arms and Disrupt Supply Network in Plateau Offensive
Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE, in collaboration with local vigilante groups, have recorded significant gains against terrorist elements during coordinated clearance operations across Plateau State.
The operation, conducted under Operation WUTAN DAJI on April 9, 2026, targeted terrorist corridors around Daba and Seri villages in Wase and Kanam Local Government Areas. Troops established blocking positions between Dutsen Zaki and Odare Forest, where they intercepted a large group of terrorists moving on motorcycles along a known route.
Following a fierce engagement, troops overpowered the group with superior firepower, neutralising 10 terrorists, while others fled into nearby forests with casualties.
In a related development, troops responded to reports of an attack on commuters along the Razat–Kafi Abu axis. The suspects retreated into surrounding areas, prompting a pursuit operation by security forces. Subsequent cordon-and-search operations were carried out in Suma Suga, Takwok, and adjoining mountainous terrain.
During the operations, troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, three magazines, eight rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two motorcycles, and five 25-litre jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) believed to be intended for terrorist logistics. Additional items recovered included a national identity card and a photograph, providing useful leads for ongoing investigations.
Military authorities stated that the operation has significantly degraded the operational capacity of armed groups in the area. Troops have remained on high alert and are continuing pursuit operations to apprehend fleeing suspects and their collaborators.
The Nigerian military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations to secure communities and protect lives and property across Plateau State.
