FG FAILS TO APPEAR AS COURT ADJOURNS NNAMDI KANU’S CASE TO OCTOBER 7

There was heavy security presence at the Abia State High Court on Tuesday during the hearing of IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu, as the hearing was adjourned to October 7 following the inability of the Federal Government to appear before the court today.

Sources say a huge number of security operatives were seen at the court premises located at Ikot Ekpene Road, Umuahia, the state capital as the Judge, Justice KCJ Okereke was set for the hearing of the case.

The counsel to Kanu, Aloy Ejimakor, had on August 27 2021 filed the cases demanding that the FG return the secessionist to Kenya where he was “abducted” from.

The counsel demanded N5 billion from the Government over alleged gross violation of Nnamdi Knau’s fundamental rights.

‘There is an unbroken chain of federal government’s violations of Kanu’s constitutional rights that started with the lethal military invasion of his home in Umuahia and his flight to safety in 2017 and his extraordinary rendition to Nigeria in late June 2021,’ Ejimakor said.

Barrister Ejimakor appeared for Kanu in company of several lawyers, two of whom were introduced as Barristers Patrick Agazie and Wilson Kalu. Also in court to observe the proceedings was Mazi Igboayaka Igboayaka, the President of Ohanaeze Youths Worldwide, who told the media that he had come to demonstrate the solidarity of Ohanaeze Youths with Nnamdi Kanu in the suit.
